APPLIED COMMUNITY & ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT (ACE) TRAINING PROGRAM:
In 2003, District III received a grant from USDA Rural Community Development Initiative Program to educate and inform local officials in how to access and utilize common development tools and techniques. Nineteen communities opted to participate.
Training events have been held throughout the region and have included over 150 participants.
Topics include:
- Leadership
- Data management
- Capital improvement planning
- Land use planning
- Housing needs analysis and homeowner education
- Community marketing
- Business retention and expansion
